Nigerian Army Eliminates Second Terrorist Cell

In a resolute counterinsurgency operation on Monday, March 4, 2024, Nigerian Army forces achieved a significant victory by neutralizing Maikusa, identified as the second-in-command in the notorious terrorist cell led by Modi Modi in Katsina State. The operation, executed in Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas, showcased the military's unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in the region.
During the fierce encounter, troops confronted vehement resistance from violent extremists, yet demonstrated exceptional bravery, overpowering the terrorists with superior firepower. The successful outcome led to the elimination of Maikusa and three other terrorists, marking a crucial milestone in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the terrorists' stronghold.
In the aftermath of the firefight, the troops recovered substantial weaponry, including two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 65 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, a locally fabricated gun, and camouflage uniforms. This remarkable feat underscores the military's effectiveness in dismantling the terrorist network's capabilities.
The military's dedication to clearing the region of terrorist elements was further evident as troops extended their operations, destroying terrorists' camps in Wurma, Shaiskawa, Yauni, Dogon Marke villages (Kurfi LGA), as well as Ummadau and Zakka villages (Safana LGA). This comprehensive approach aims to eradicate the remnants of the terrorists' cell, ensuring lasting safety and security in the area.
